  • 12. – 14. February 2006: Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Miss Amna Saleem, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan and Mrs. Nasreen Awal Mintoo, President of Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh and Mrs. Samina Fazil, Chairperson of Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry Islamabad, Pakistan.
  • 15. October 2005: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mrs. Sajide Minhaj Mukul, Vice President of WEAB and Mrs. Mehreen Ilahi, Co-Chairperson of Standing Committee of Women Entrepreneur FPCCI, to strengthen the relationship between the business women of Pakistan and Bangladesh, to promote cooperation in trade, investment, services and women empowerment between both countries.
  • 10. – 15. October 2005: Second Asian Women Entrepreneur Eid Festival 2005, Dhaka. After the widely acclaimed First South Asian Women Entrepreneur Eid Festival 2004, WEAB and High Commission of Pakistan to Bangladesh organized the Second Asian Women Entrepreneur Eid Festival 2005, on a grander scale. In addition to the SAARC nations, Turkey and Indonesia were new entrants. Among the 60 participants was the well-known barbacue chef of Pakistan, Bundoo Khan who was flown in, to participate in the festival.
  • 28. August 2005: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mrs. Mahvash Nikpour, Head of Business Women Council, Teheran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines (TCCIM) and Mrs. Nasreen Awal Mintoo, President of Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB), to foster friendship and understanding between Women Entrepreneur of Iran and Bangladesh.
  • 12. February 2005: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mrs. Shanti Chadha, President of Federation of Women Entrepreneur Association of Nepal (FWEAN) and Mrs. Nasreen Awal Mintoo, President of Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB), for better exchange of products within the SAARC region.
  • 03. February 2005: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Begum Salma Ahmed, President of Women’s Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WCCI) Karachi, Pakistan and Mrs. Nasreen Awal Mintoo, President of Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB), in order to engage in the fields of trade, commerce and industry, as well as Women Empowerment with systematic business promotional activities, to bring closer the business women of both countries.
  • 02. – 07. November 2004: Inauguration of First South Asian Women Entrepreneur Eid Festival-2004. Seven Countries brought quality products and participated side by side with our producers in the month of Ramzan. The bazar was a tremendous success.
  • 02. May 2003: Memorandum of Understanding between Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Ladies Organization and WEAB in New Delhi, India. The Cooperation aims on fostering friendship and understanding between women entrepreneur from both countries and promoting cooperation in trade, investment, services and women empowerment.
  • 20. November 2001: Loan agreement between WEAB and Arab Bangladesh Bank Ltd.
General achievements:
  • # WEAB organizes participation of member entrepreneur in trade fairs, exhibitions and melas in the country.
  • WEAB sends member producers to trade shows, exhibitions, fairs and festivals around the world, including U.K., U.S.A., Canada, Australia, Germany, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, India, Pakistan and other countries. The exposure has helped improve the quality and design of their own products. They have found markets, and most importantly their confidence has increased.
  • WEAB also sends members for training abroad, to Korea, India and other countries. Members also attend workshops where they gain valuable insights into product development.
  • A delegation of women entrepreneur of WEAB attended the First Forum of Business Women in the OIC member Countries, organized by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) in Sharjah, U.A.E. WEAB has been designated to liaison with Muslim Countries of Asia and Africa.
  • WEAB has opened regional offices all over Bangladesh, reaching out to women entrepreneur and artisans in the remotest villages of Bangladesh. Aim is to seek the hidden talent of our women, and help them achieve their optimum potential.
  • WEAB as a member of SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneur Council (SCWEC), networks closely with the SAARC countries. Our greatest moment was when Bangladesh, through WEAB, was selected to have chair the orgnization for the next two years. It is an achievement to be proud of as WEAB members have thus brought a new honour to our country.
